Whisks and Whiskey Couples Shower

It seems like every time I plan something for my nieces, the weather does not want to cooperate. None the less, I love when a vision comes together and thats exactly what happened a few weeks ago for the couples shower that I planned for my beautiful niece Marissa and her soon to be husband Evan. A well stocked bar as well as a well prepared kitchen is important for a newlywed couple so a Whisks and Whiskey theme seemed perfect to celebrate this darling couple.

I wanted the night to be one that the couple would remember. I have always wanted to do a long Farm table family style dinner party and felt like this would be a great time to make this happen having both families present and so many of the couples friends. We chose Crooked Stick Country Club as our venue and their outside Porch with clear screens that drop down and heaters as well as a roaring fireplace was the perfect setting.

Those who know me know that I have the worst handwriting ever! I am so lucky to have a friend who happens to have great handwriting and was willing to take the time to write each guests name on a magnolia leaf for placards. They turned out amazing and were the added touch I wanted on each plate! Thank you so much Sarah!

After days of beautiful Fall weather, it rained all day long!  I kept telling my niece that the down pour meant good luck and as it turned out it did not put a damper on the evening at all. The rain actually stopped about 30 minutes before the start of the party and everyone stayed dry and ready to celebrate the bride and groom to be!

We had worked on finding the perfect fall menu and it did not disappoint. It felt like a home cooked meal with family and friends around the beautiful and oh so long table. I loved having the platters passed and the casual and intimate feeling of the evening!

Little details are very important to me so searching for those things are very fun for me! “Love Is Sweet, Take a Treat” adorned the sign above the favors table. Just Pop In made the cutest favor bags filled with their mixed caramel corn and cheddar cheese blend. They were so easy to work with and the monogram label that they designed so quickly was a perfect personalized touch. I chose to scatter mini bottles of whiskey among the bags so that there was a choice for everyone!

Amazon and Etsy are also two of my go to sites to find exactly what I need to pull things together!

I can’t stop thinking about what a wonderful night it was celebrating the bride and groom to be and now we are all counting down the days until their big day on new years eve where the real celebration will take place!

Cheers to Marissa & Evan!
