I had such a fun day the other day being pampered by my new friend, Darlene. After a few weeks of feeling like my makeup just wasn’t staying in place and that my eyes looked so tired and needed some brightening, I found myself in her chair at Nordstrom’s Trish McEvoy counter. I have always been someone that uses products from several different lines and have always liked a multitude of products by Trish. Change of seasons, stress and so many other factors can effect how we see ourselves when we look in the mirror.
We started talking about my concerns and then the fun began. I always say that my sister got the makeup gene and was so talented in application and picking the perfect colors. I on the other hand, did not get that gene and need all the help that I can get! Not only is Darlene extremely knowledgeable about their products, but she is so talented in teaching someone like me exactly what products to use and the best application. I looked in the mirror when my makeover was finished and I felt so refreshed and my skin had such a wonderful glow! I’m so happy with my experience and want to share my new products and the application steps I learned to get my new brightened up look.
Having the knowledge about skincare and makeup can solve many of the issues women my age encounter with their face! This new regimen was exactly what I needed!
SKINCARE
- Exfoliate — Beta Hydroxy Pads, daily and weekly pads. These pads help skin look fresh and glow. They remove dead skin cells for a smoother complexion and will help improve the texture of skin and enable products to penetrate better.
- Beauty Booster Face Serum 4-5 drops AM/PM — This will help with fine lines. The hyaluronic acid is a moisture magnet that will plump fine lines and increase your moisture absorption.
- Beauty Booster Eye Serum drop AM/PM
- Beauty Booster Advanced Repair Retinol Eye Cream
- Moisturizer with sunscreen
MAKEUP
Step 1: Brighten the Upper Eyelid
- Eye Base Essentials BARE will help lock your eye color in place all day.
- Apply to eyelid and blend from lid to brown and inner corner of the eye.
Step 2: Eye Liner and Color
- Black Eyeliner — hold upright underneath upper lashes and press and wiggle between each lash.
- Shadows — Shell all over, Tawny in the crease, Sable Bronze in the corner and crease, and Deep Aubergine eyeliner on the top lid. Mix a few drops of Finish Line with Deep Aubergine to make liner.
Step 3: Instant Eye Lift
- Make an upside-down triangle under each eye with Instant Eye Lift and gently press into skin until blended. Use the Wet/Dry Even Skin Brush to accomplish this.
Step 4: Correct and Even Full-Face Perfector
- Perfector in Shade #2 to cover dark areas and even skin.
- This helps banish darkness under the eye.
Step 5: Translucent Powder
- Be sure to avoid eye with Translucent Powder to prevent it from settling and making lines look more visible.
Step 6: Weekend Bronzer with Brush 37
- Apply in a backward C shape from the hairline to the apple of the cheek with #37 Bronzer Brush where the sun naturally kisses your face. Be sure to dust on neck as well. This is a year round essential for a warm and rested look
Step 7: Blush a Little
Step 8: Lash line – Mascara and Brow Enhancement
- I use the High Volume Mascara.
Step 9: Lip Using a lip toned liner will enhance your pout
- Barely Nude Lip Liner
- Black Rose Lip Color
- Berry Lip Gloss
Most importantly, love who you see when you look into the mirror. Know your self worth and don’t be too critical!
